Our History
In 1983, a young Brian Bovee started working maintenance at Vassar Hospital. During this time, he worked alongside plumbers, painters, and other contractors in the Engineering Department. Over the course of the next four years, Brian committed himself to perfecting his craft; learning, growing, and diversifying his skills to the point that people began to notice and request his work. What first started out as weekend side jobs, soon grew into a thriving business.
On October 1, 1987, at the age of 21, Brian decided to start his own construction business. Since then, Bovee Construction has had the pleasure of serving the Greater Hudson Valley for over thirty years. Bovee Construction has undertaken a vast array of jobs from new homes, kitchen remodels, custom woodworking, and countless more. Throughout the years, one aspect of our company has remained the same: commitment to excellent work and exceptional service.
Meet the Team
Brian Bovee
CEO & FOUNDER
I started Bovee Construction in 1987 because of my passion for designing, creating, and working with my hands. Since then, every day brings a new set of challenges that makes working in construction fresh and exciting! My heart for BCC was to bring design, creation, and relationship, all under one company.
Outside of work, I love riding motorcycles, shooting photography, and playing outdoor sports. I am also active in my church as a pastor involved in Men’s Ministry and have been blessed with my beautiful wife and two kids. I count my blessings everyday for all that God has provided me with.
Russell Bovee
LEAD CARPENTER
The first time I worked for Brian was over the summer when I was 14 years old, and since then I have always enjoyed working with my hands. Throughout my childhood and teen years, I became a part of the Boy Scouts of America where I rose to the highest achievable rank of Eagle Scout. In 2009, I graduated from Rhinebeck High School and a two year residential and commercial wiring program at BOCES CTI. Additionally, I received an Associate’s Degree from Dutchess Community College.
In 2010, I became a full-time carpenter at BCC and in 2015, I married my high school sweetheart and moved to Fishkill, NY.
Ben Bovee
CARPENTER
Since I was young, I have always been around jobsites with my dad. In 2014, I graduated from FDR High School and completed the BOCES CTI program for residential and commercial wiring. While in school, I worked alongside my dad part-time and since graduating, have transitioned to full-time carpenter.
As I learn new skills, I relish in the chance to apply myself to new challenges and aspire to become a project manager. In my free time, I enjoy playing the drums, grilling outdoors, and going for rides on my motorcycle.
Rachel Bovee
SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER
I graduated from FDR High School in 2017 and am now a full-time student at Gordon College in MA. I am currently working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and Communications, which has developed my interest in how business, brand, and social media all work together. In 2018, I took over managing the social media for BCC and have worked hard to grow our brand online.
When I am not in school or getting content on the jobsites, I love to spend my time reading, practicing music, and exploring around the Hudson Valley with my friends!

We interviewed a number of contractors, and we were impressed with Brian’s knowledge, experience, and his rapport with us… Brian, Ben, and Russell were wonderful to work with. They were patient and understanding… [and] continue to work on projects for me, some large and some small. I know I can count on them to do the very best. They have great integrity, a wonderful work ethic, and professionalism in whatever they do. I am happy to say that our business relationship has blossomed into a friendship.”
